Arranged in chronological order, the sensational compilation contains all of Rod Stewart's great hits from the late sixties to 1998, starting with early recordings like "Maggie Mae" and "You Wear It Well", Disc 1 reports with "Stay With Me" on the time with the Faces, followed by the early successes of "Every Picture Tells A Story" (1971) and "Never A Dull Moment" (1972). Songs like "Sailing", the No.-1 hit "Tonight's The Night" (Gonna Be Alright), "You're In My Heart" and the cult song "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" from the chart breaker album "Blondes Have More Fun" (1978) should not be missing. 

Disc 2 continues with the eighties and nineties, including "Infatuation", "Some Guys Have All The Luck", "Love Touch", "Forever Young" and "Motown Song" from the top 10 album "Vagabond Heart" (1991). Other classics include Tom Waits' "Downtown Train", which Stewart turned into a No. 1 hit, and "Have I Told You Lately" and "Reason To Believe" (with Ronnie Wood) from the MTV unplugged series. "Two Shades Of Blue" was created during the sessions of "When We Were The New Boys" (1998), but has not yet been released. The song uses a sample from Bordin's "Prince Igor", which was also used as the main melody for Kismet's "Stranger Than Paradise".
