We are pleased to announce the first release in what we hope will be a long running series of recorded Americana music on Swamp Hunter Records. For our first release, we have selected an artist who has performed all over the world and has a strong reputation in the realm of rockabilly music: (former Texas) tomboy Mack Stevens.

Mack is not just an energetic performer. He loves the music he plays and is a record collector himself who has contributed greatly to the preservation of local country and rock 'n' roll music history. Mack has released many top-notch records over the years, some for independent labels and some for his own company, Freedonia Records, but he could never be tamed for a major company.

Now Mack is on Swamp Hunter Records and we have selected some outstanding, down to earth performances from him. This is Mack's first acoustic and self-recorded album, and we have selected the best tracks for this album. The idea behind this album was to create songs in the tradition of folklorists like Alan Lomax, who traveled the country documenting folk music in its purest form. You've certainly never heard Mack as stripped down as he is here, and his unique voice and song material will make it a special record for you, we're sure of it.
