Steamhammer, one of the most exciting bands of the British blues boom era, was formed by guitarist Martin Pugh and vocalist Kieran White.
After gaining a reputation for steamy live performances, they were signed to CBS and released their debut album 'Reflection' in 1969, which is packed with dynamic performances including 'Junior's Wailing' - a track that was released as a Steamhammer single and became a hit in Germany.

It was also successfully covered by Status Quo. Among the 11 tracks on the CD are versions of B. B. King's “You'll Never Know” and Eddie Boyd's “Twenty Four Hours”, as well as a two-part arrangement called “Water”, which introduces and rounds off a satisfying album. More albums and tours by Steamhammer followed, as well as some personnel changes, before they finally disbanded in 1975.

“Reflection” is a nice reminder of the origins of these bluesmen.
