The legendary Spirit Studio recordings from the Ode & Epic Records period between 1968 - 1972, are now available remastered in a fabulous 5 CD clamshell box set!

In addition to the included soundtrack to the movie The Model Shop, the original 1968 stereo mix of The Family That Plays Together, various out-takes, singles and alternate mixes created for the 1991 Time Circle compilation, now for the first time the entire mono mix of the 1968 album Spirit is available on CD.

To further enhance this collector's package, an illustrated book with an essay by Malcolm Dome and interviews with the band members is included with the release.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1967 from the remnants of The Red Roosters, Spirit was one of the biggest psychedelic bands on the U.S. West Coast. The band signed a record deal with the then newly formed Ode Records label in late 1967. Their self-titled debut album was released a few months later and demonstrated the band's musical range and diversity, covering psychedelic, rock and jazz influences.

The follow-up album, The Family That Plays Together, spawned the hit single I Got A Line on You and became one of their best works thanks to the rest of the very good song material such as It Shall Be, Aren't You Glad, Silky Sam and Darlin' If.
