Nearly three years after Brittney Spencer first caught the attention of Nashville after posting a cover of The Highwomen's "Crowded Table" on social media, Spencer arrives with her debut album, My Stupid Life.
"My Stupid Life" is best described as a movie soundtrack to Spencer's existence. After 11 years in Nashville after moving here from Baltimore, it's a heartwarming, hopeful story about falling in and out of love while struggling with trauma, sitting in her apartment, playing guitar and occasionally opening her front door to greet friends like Abbey Cone, Mickey Guyton, Isbell, Maren Morris and Grace Potter. These artists are among the many involved in the release as musicians, singers or otherwise.

Nashville's New Star" (CBS This Morning) Brittney Spencer announces her highly anticipated debut album, "My Stupid Life," out Jan. 19 via Elektra. The first track, "Bigger Than The Song," showcases Spencer's ability to excel on the edge of the genre periphery with her honest and free-spirited songwriting.

The album's 13 tracks are a summation of her experiences during her time in Music City as she sought to discover herself. The Baltimore native moved to Nashville ten years ago, and this album is Spencer's declaration of being herself. The album was recorded at Sound Emporium Studios and Blackbird Studio in Nashville and produced by GRAMMY-winning producer Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves, Little Big Town, Brett Eldredge) on all but two tracks, Marcus "MarcLo" Lomax (Monsters & Strangerz, Maren Morris, Justin Bieber, Kelsea Ballerini), who produced the lead single - "Bigger Than TheSong", and Romil Hemnani (BROCKHAMPTON), who produced "New To This Town". " -

"It feels like we've been waiting a long time for this," says Spencer. "It's taken three years from the release of my first EP, Compassion, to the release of my first album. These songs serve as my introduction to country music and I wanted to give them the time and care they (and my fans) deserve. I wrote a lot of songs from the back corners of my mind because I wanted to take a good, deep look at myself and create something that was true to who and where I am at this point in my life. The more I write down my feelings and thoughts, the more I realize that I've heard similar thoughts throughout my life.

Through working on this album, I've learned that we are not alone in our minds, and I hope this album embraces the small, loud parts of our overthinking brains that sometimes need it the most." - The project features award-winning collaborators Grace Potter, Maren Morris, AbbeyCone & Sarah Buxton, and Jason Isbell contributes guitar.
