Bob und Joe Attlesey traten unter dem Mädchennamen ihrer Mutter, Shelton, in einer Karriere auf, die sie in den 1930er Jahren zu lokalen Favoriten in der Region zwischen Shreveport, Louisiana, und Dallas, Texas, machte. Bob Shelton (1909-1986) war ein ausgezeichneter Moderator und Komödiant, während Bruder Joe (1911-1980) Mandoline spielte und eine hohe, klare Singstimme hatte. Obwohl sie es nicht geschrieben haben, wurde Just Because ihr größter Hit. Wie die meisten Country-Darsteller in den 30er Jahren nahmen die Sheltons einige Jimmie-Rodgers-Songs in ihr Repertoire auf, darunter die selten gecoverte She Was Happy Till She Met You, die es auch war. Joe Shelton ist der Leadsänger auf der Decca-Aufnahme der Brüder aus dem Jahr 1937.
