Behind 'She & Him' are two anything but unknown names. She' is Zooey Deschanel, born in 1980, who has attracted attention in several Hollywood movies - most recently with her film '(500) Days Of Summer' (2009). Furthermore, she currently stars in the successful TV series 'New Girl'.

'Him' is M. Ward, who has made a name for himself since the late 90s with idiosyncratic indie albums between folk and rock.

When Zoey Deschanel revealed that she was writing songs herself, Ward immediately wanted to record an album with her. They began releasing albums, of which 'Volume Two' occupied the number one spot on the US rock, folk and independent charts for several weeks. Their Christmas album was voted among the Top25 best Xmas albums of all time by American Rolling Stone.

With 'Classics' the country/folk duo now recorded 13 classics and interprets them in their very special way. Among them is the focus track 'Stay Awhile' (Dusty Springfield, 1995), 'Would You Like To Take A Walk' (Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong, 1930) or 'Teach Me Tonight' (1953)."
