He turned down job offers from Albert Collins and Muddy Waters and was on a very short media list to be the next Stevie Ray Vaughan. He wowed Keith Richards and Mick Taylor. Kirk Hammett of Metallica formed a one-off band just to play at John's memorial gig. This was a bluesman like no other.
