Shake Five is a wonderful collection of ten instrumental guitar songs inspired by Link Wray, The Astronauts, Dick Dale, The Trashmen and many more. Unlike the vast majority of surf / instro bands today, The Routes recorded their songs in raging, raw mono and with proper amp buzz.

The title track "Shake Five" is a tribute to Dave Brubeck's "Take Five", recorded in the same 5 / 4 beat.
