Bernd Rinser, a man with a rough shell and a sensitive core, can be placed between Townes van Zandt, Seasick Steve, Johnny Cash and Willy DeVille. 

The question of whether he's primarily a bluesman with a penchant for poetry or a singer/songwriter with a penchant for blues doesn't really arise. His excellently composed songs are as convincing as they are authentic. They are unsentimental, artistic and yet full of heart tones. The concerts are a must for all romantics and RootsRock fans. When the Bayerischer Rundfunk also says that Rinsers CDs are "by far the most convincing and authentic German blues records", you can expect a top-class concert.
