Along the way, Quinteros recorded a handful of hard-hitting singles and proved that, given the right opportunities, he could change history. Quinteros' Southern rockabilly influences are recognizable in his early singles, but filtered through the more urban perspective of a San Francisco teenager. In the mid-1960s, he reinvented himself as frontman of the Au-Go-Go's, producing a shimmering folk-rock sound more in line with the Beau Brummels. Eddie's entire record output amounts to just a handful of 45s, but this collection sets the record straight for posterity, with demos, unreleased tracks, live recordings and acetates.
