Founded in the summer of 1965 by the brothers Michael and Dan Erlewine, the commitment of the Prime Movers Blues Band was legendary.
Refusing to adopt a fake British Invasion look, they turned down an offer from Motown and relentlessly played their Chicago inspired blues style in the Detroit area.

With the 'raw power' of a young James Osterberg on drums (who also contributes the vocals to their sizzling styling of 'I'm A Man'), this very first collection of recordings by The Prime Movers Blues Band is appropriately pressed at Third Man in Detroit and includes liner notes by bandleader Michael Erlewine!
