One of the things that made Elvis Presley a truly great singer was that he sang material he deeply loved. He had grown up on country music and gospel, the blues and its close relative rhythm and blues.

In fact, Elvis grew up in the heartland of Delta Blues, in Mississippi and Tennessee. All of this music was filtered through Elvis, who added something of his own as he brought it to the world. This album collects fourteen of Presley's best blues recordings from 1953 to 1960.
