Jerry Osborne

Jerry Osborne's Name und Hintergrund sind denjenigen, die im Geschäft und Hobby von Sammlerplatten tätig sind, bestens bekannt. Allerdings, für diejenigen, die kürzlich von diesem faszinierenden Zeitvertreib fasziniert waren oder bald ein wenig über Jerry erfahren werden: Osborne ist seit über dreißig Jahren ein Datensammler und verfasst seit 1975 hauptberuflich Plattenpreisführer und Fachbücher.

Seine veröffentlichten Werke über Musik umfassen heute über drei Dutzend, wobei er weiterhin mehrere Bücher pro Jahr veröffentlicht. In verwandten Projekten schreibt Jerry die beliebte Wochenzeitungskolumne "Mr. Music" und beantwortet die Fragen der Leser zu Musik und Schallplatten (landesweit vom World Features Syndicate syndiziert). Er ist die Radiostimme der beliebten "Mr. Music's History of Rock and Roll Trivia". Osborne veröffentlicht auch das beliebte, international verbreitete DISCoveries-Magazin für Plattensammler, das ein erschwingliches Fahrzeug anbietet, über das sie kaufen, verkaufen und handeln können.

Jerry Osborne's Einfluss und Beteiligung an der Datensammlung wurde in praktisch jeder größeren Zeitschrift und Zeitung des Landes beschrieben: Reader's Digest ,The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, People Magazine, Esquire, Woman's Day, Oui, National Enquirer, Money, Changing Times, Photoplay, High Fidelity, Billboard, Cash Box, Music City News, and Rolling Stone, um nur einige zu nennen. Niemand war - direkt oder indirekt - verantwortlicher für das erstaunliche Wachstum des Hobbys. Zu diesen gehören: "Guten Morgen Amerika", "The Today Show" und The Nashville Network, sowie zu viele lokale und regionale Shows. Jerry war zuvor technischer Berater und Berater für das von der Kritik gefeierte nostalgische Nachrichtenmagazin "Our World" von ABC-TV und war Berater für HBO und CBS-TVs "West 57th Street". Er ist der Autor von zwei weiteren Titeln des House of Collectibles: Der Official@ Price Guide to Records und der Official@ Price Guide to Memorabilia von Elvis Presley und den Beatles.
