The Kody Norris Show is an energetic bluegrass band known for combining traditional roots with a fresh, modern touch. As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary this year, the band set out to honor the determination, sacrifice and everyday strength that define this country with the release of their first concept album "Spirit of America". Due out in June, the project looks back at the sounds and stories that have shaped generations and, alongside songs listeners may have grown up with, features a selection of new original compositions designed to stand the test of time. "Spirit of America" includes two songs written especially for the project: "Good Ol’ USA", penned by Kody Norris and Grand Ole Opry artist Larry Chunn, and "United We Stand", written by Mary Rachel Nalley-Norris and Conrad Fisher. It also marks a milestone for the group, as it contains Mary Rachel Nalley-Norris’ very first instrumental composition, "Declaration of Independence", which lends this tribute to the American spirit and the bluegrass tradition a distinctive and personal dimension.
