REBA MCENTIRE / STARTING OVER – On October 3, 1995, Reba released Starting Over, a collection of cover versions of songs by artists she had admired since childhood. Featuring songs such as Linda Ronstadt's “You're No Good” and Dolly Parton's “Starting Over,” the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and has since been certified platinum by the RIAA for over a million copies sold. The album's lead single, “On My Own,” was a historic collaboration between Reba, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, and Linda Davis. The album coincided with Reba's 20th anniversary since signing her record deal, which was celebrated that same year on the CBS television special “Reba: Celebrating 20 Years.” The 30th Anniversary Edition 2 LP includes exclusive, previously unreleased bonus tracks: “Heat Wave,” “Misty Blue,” and “Tulsa Time.”

Von Red Steagall war sie 1974 entdeckt worden, 1975 hatten sie ihren ersten Plattenvertrag bei Mercury, doch erst der Wechsel zu MCA machte aus ihr einen Superstar. 1984, 1985, 1986 und 1987 wurde sie von der CMA zur besten Sängerin des Jahres gewählt.
