geb. 28. 3. 1941 in Oak Hill/West Virginia Record Labels: Monument, Cadence Erster Hit: I Started Loving You Again (1972) Charlie McCoy, ein Multiinstrumentalist, wurde vor allem als Mundharmonikavirtuose bekannt und berühmt. Seine professionelle Laufbahn begann er als Schlagzeuger in der Band von Stonewall Jackson, er versuchte es als Gitarrist und Sänger, doch konnte er sich letztendlich in Nashville nur als Mundharmonikaspieler profilieren. Er wurde ein begehrter Sessionmann, wirkte bei ein paar Bob Dylan-L.P.s mit, war Mitglied in der Gruppe Area Code 615 und machte sich neben seiner Sessionarbeit als Solist mit zahlreichen L.P.s und Hits selbständig.
