Mandolin Orange is an Americana / folk duo from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The group was formed in 2009 and consists of songwriter Andrew Marlin (vocals, mandolin, guitar, banjo) and Emily Frantz (vocals, fiddle, guitar). Mandolin Orange have produced five albums that feature folk, country, bluegrass, gospel and pop.

All of this blends together in a unique melange that can simply be described as modern American roots music. Their music is characterized by strong, tight vocal harmonies and virtuosic musicianship. Over the past three years, the group has toured the US and Europe and is growing in popularity.

On their self-produced album Tides Of A Teardrop, Mandolin Orange invite their listeners on a profound, acoustic meditation on love and loss. Because Marlin focuses on the death of his mother, the album impresses with its powerful directness.
