And he made a name for himself as a serious pool player. When the Californian blues scene dried-out in the early '70s, he moved north to Minneapolis. The city had a vibrant blues scene with many black players that had migrated from the ghettos in Chicago. Today, he's back on the scene in California. This new superb set incorporates everything that's relevant for a great jump blues record: ready-to-play musicians, humor, swing, groove, and technical finesse. The repertoire consists of a list of hand-picked songs, blues, r&b, and jazz. The list of players reads like a who's who in west coast blues. A must!
