“Peace Town” is a compilation of 20 songs by renowned singer and songwriter Jimmy LaFave. These are the last songs he wrote before his death, and they confirm once again why LaFave is one of America's greatest voices. For “Peace Town” he interpreted songs such as the heart-breaking “It Makes No Difference” by Robbie Robertson, which he recorded with The Band.

Other songs that inspired him in earlier years follow, including Chuck Berry's “The Promised Land” and “Let My Love Open the Door” by Pete Townshend (The Who). LaFave's love for other Oklahoma musicians is reflected in the versions of Leon Russell's “Help Me Through the Day” and J. J. Cale's “Don't Go To Strangers,” as well as “My Oklahoma Home (It Blew Away)” by siblings Bill and Sis Cunningham.

The album closes with a poignant version of “Goodbye Amsterdam” by folk singer/songwriter Tim Easton.
