Take Me To The River

Die Entstehungsgeschichte von Take Me To The River beginnt damit, dass der Co-Autor Al Green zufällig den Bluesharper Little Junior Parker trifft.

Und daraus entstand später 'Take Me To The River', aus diesem Treffen." Mach, was immer du machen willst."

Is It Because I'm Black. Syl ging Ende 1971 zu Hi und arbeitete mit Mitchell und seiner Hausband an den Hits We Did It, Back For A Taste Of Your Love und I Want To Take You Home (To See Mama). Take Me To The River war der größte von allen.

Mrs. Johnson lag richtig: Take Me To The River kam auf #7 R&B/#48 Pop in 1975.
