Jivin' Jake and The Wildcats formed in 1985 and quickly became popular in Sweden and abroad.However, the band broke up in 1989 when frontman Jake (Jakob Jern) turned to country music with the newly formed band Jake and The Spitfires.Jake & The Spitfires also quickly became popular and appeared on several television shows in Sweden. They also played in Texas at the South by Southwest festival.
However, despite the success with the country band, Jakob reflected on his earlier career and in 2006, in addition to Jake and The Spitfires, formed the band Jivin' Jake and The Wildcats with two new band members Ulf (drums) and Johan (guitar) and Jakob (bass) as the frontman.

The album Voodoo To You was released in 2010 by Scana Sverige AB and contains 20 tracks, half of which are self-written material and the rest covers. The disc also contains a lot of bonus tracks, 7 of the 20 tracks are bonus tracks and these songs are from their earlier years, 1986-89.

Jivin' Jake and Co is not a pure rockabilly/rock'n'roll band, country songs and swing/jive inspired songs are occasionally interspersed on the disc so everyone will get their money's worth regardless of their musical tastes.
If you have Brian Setzer or The Blasters as your house gods, you may recognize influences from the aforementioned rock 'n' roll gods.
