Who was/is Die James Brothers ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more

The James Brothers

In 1958 the music producer Gerhard Mendelson had the idea to form a duo of the already successful singers Peter Kraus and Jörg Maria Berg, following the example of the Everly Brothers. The single of the James Brothers "Wenn" immediately reached number 6 in the German charts in 1958. It was followed by "Wenn du heut' ausgegeht". (1959, #11), "The Young Years" (1959, #10), "Cowboy Billy" (1959, #6), "Just Like You." (1960, rank 35), "Tomorrow you'll be rid of all your worries" (1961, rank 16) and "Rosy, oh Rosy (1961, rank 17).

The James Brothers gave successful concerts throughout Germany and were also featured in the film "Melodie und Rhythmus" (1959). When the success of the James Brothers diminished at the beginning of the 60's, the record contract with Jörg Maria Berg, whose career was less successful than that of Peter Kraus, was not extended. Peter Kraus was able to continue his successful career until today.
