Known for his songwriting as much as his warm honey-sounding voice and distinctive guitar playing, Jacobs brought the best songs of his career to Berlin.

"It's amazing where your instrument takes you like that," muses Will Jacobs - and when the celebrated 29-year-old bandleader looks back at the tracks on his latest album, "Goldfish Blues," the back story feels like an ongoing road movie. "We had a week," Jacobs says of the sessions at Berlin studio Big D. "Compared to most other albums, that's not much time. But I'll always have the image of us all being in a room together, and you'll definitely hear that in the music."

Known for his songwriting as much as his warm honey-sounding voice and distinctive guitar playing, Jacobs brought the best songs of his career to Berlin. It takes a special kind of musician to record this kind of music while the studio clock is ticking. While Jacobs was calling the shots with his vocals and guitar playing, he was accompanied by a band of studio cracks consisting of Stef Rosen (guitar), Brian Sauls (drums), Matthias Falkenau (organ) and Thomas Tomek Germann (bass).

But as he prepares to release his landmark album Goldfish Blues - and to tour with the new songs - the question of where the guitarist's journey will take him next begs to be answered.
