Daptone Records presents a new album by The James Hunter Six in 2022: With Love is, the name and also the cover already suggest, a collection of ballads and love songs.

These twelve lilting tunes, plucked like so many 'He Loves You' petals from the vast and lush garden of his Daptone Recordings, were selected and ranked by the Daptone staff with great care, tenderness and intent to assemble some of the most criminally overlooked treasures from the James Hunter Six's critically acclaimed catalog, reads the label's strikingly pictorial description.

After starting out as a street musician in London, James Hunter was discovered by Van Morrison, for whom he worked as a backup singer and guitarist. In the mid/late 1990s, he launched his solo career as an R'n'B musician and soul singer, playing concerts around the world and releasing several albums. In 2006, Hunter was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Traditional Blues Album category for his album People Gonna Talk and an American Music Award for Best New/Emerging Artist. Extensive touring and additional critically acclaimed studio albums followed, The Hard Way (2008), Minute By Minute (2013), Hold On! (2016), Whatever it Takes (2018) and most recently Nick Of Time (2020). With Love is now an amorous best-of from them.
