Record Labels: Folkways Roscoe Holcomb, er arbeitete viele Jahre lang in den Berg- werken und in der Holzindustrie von Kentucky, repräsentierte als Sänger den typischen „High Lonesome Sound“ seiner Heimat. Auf dem Banjo begleitete er sich im alten Clawhammer-Stil. ln seiner Musik waren starke Einflüsse des Blues und der alten Baptisten-Hymnen unüberhörbar. Er starb an Asthma und Staublunge.
