GROSS, Dave Crawling The Walls

Gross still must be regarded a blues youngster (he was born in 1984). This already is his third album, an outstanding one. He loves to play with a big tone. His technique is excellent, as is his taste. Empowered by might horn arrangements, he's displaying his abilities. You can hear cool jazz, r&b, blues, some rock'n'roll but most of all, a lot of Dave Gross in this music. His singing has improved a lot. And I'm subscribing to what Bob Margolin expresses in his liner notes. 'I Was enthusiaistic the same way when I first heard The Fabulous Thunderbirds, the young Stevie Ray Vaughan and just a few years ago when I the liner notes for John N was knocked out by them, the world honors their music now. I have no doubt that the same will happen with supremely multi-talented Dave Gross.' No overdubs. If you are digging great (guitar-) playing, check him out. Essential, and very highly recommended.
