Together with the legendary Link Wray, Robert Gordon released two LPs on Private Stock in 1977/78. These records are considered the best of the rockabilly revival. With them, something completely new emerged from the ashes of rockabilly. There is no trace of dreary revival on either production. It was new music with all its inherent energy and courage to take on new things, while being firmly rooted in the timeless truth of rockabilly. For the sessions on the second LP, Bruce Springsteen contributed Fire, a song he had written for Elvis. He also played piano on these sessions. It was the age of punk and new wave. Robert's music not only convinced those to the contrary, for whom no good records were made after 1957.
