Bob Frank's self-titled debut album, released on Vanguard Records in 1972, took elements of Dylan, Johnny Cash and Ian Tyson and filtered them through a smoky haze and the influence of Frank's longtime friend, Memphis guru Jim Dickinson. Dickinson and Frank admired each other so much that Dickinson included one of Bob Frank's songs on his 1972 debut album Dixie Fried (released by Atlantic Records): 'Wild Bill Jones'. But despite the connection between Dickinson and Memphis, Bob Frank's only LP for Vanguard fell into obscurity and was hard to find - until Light in the Attic reissued it in 2014 to great acclaim. Now from Real Gone comes more Bob Frank recordings from Vanguard from 1972 (all previously unreleased studio songs) along with a live set from the Old Quarter in Houston in 1973 (the first live Bob Frank recordings ever released). Includes an insert with extensive liner notes on Frank's career self-sabotage by Pat Thomas and the director of the documentary Within A Few Degrees: A Little Gest of Bob Frank, Isaac Pingree. 20 tracks, all unreleased, pressed on Stems 'n' Seeds "Marijuana" vinyl.
