Fats and his Cats, one of the most famous rock ´n ´Roll Bands in Germany, celebrated regional successes under the band name Hit-Cats until 1957. They became known for Fats' (Otto Ortwein) inimitable titles by Fats Domino and Ray Charles and fascinated dance-loving youngsters who rocked like electrified to the `fats-igen Musik´ 

The band was very successful, the evenings were filled with gigs, they played in big halls as well as in guest halls and still kept their feet on the ground. The first record was recorded in 1962. Hello', `Mr. Domino´ and `Tick-Tack` are the first successes. This CD includes the recordings with Inge Brandenburg. At the beginning of 1965 ´Die of pretty girls from Germany´ are the band's last real hit, but their live performances are still in demand. 

On October 5, 1990 the founder of the band Otto Ortwein died of heart failure.
