“California” is a song we wrote on our first tour in California last year. We wanted to bring all the sunshine and psychedelic vibes of The Byrds, Laurel Canyon and tons of 12-string guitars into our songwriting. But somehow the lyrics have kept a few black clouds. It's about traveling and leaving loved ones behind. Any musician on the road can relate to that. Although you can have a great time, you always miss someone. Home is really where your love is. We are very proud of this song, and on top of that we have a guest vocalist. The legendary singer La La Brooks - yes, from The Crystals, the lead vocalist on the classic “Da Doo Ron Ron”, one of our favorite Phil Spector -produced songs of all time.

Having La La sing with us is an absolute joy and honor. It's so surreal that we haven't even realized it's really happened yet! For the mix, our producer Soren Christensen teamed up with the fantastic Darian Sahanaja (who produced no less than Brian Wilson's SMiLE album) to enhance the Californian good vibes even further. So open your windows, let the sunshine in and play this song to the max!
