Durch den Neuzugang von Hans Jansen, der für Tastenmann Rick von der Linden kam, ist das Spektrum der Ekseption musikalisch erweitert worden.

Früher war es so, daß Rick ausschließlich für die Stücke der Ekseption verantwortlich war. Heute werden die Arrangements von allen 5 Musikern gemeinsam erarbeitet. Jedes ihrer Stücke hat Ekseption-Sound. Nur, die Gruppe spielt heute wesentlich viel-fältiger. Trompeter Rein van den Broek: „Wir wür-den uns niemals auf unseren alten Stük-ken (5th, Adagio, Concerto) ausruhen. Neue Ideen reizen uns.

Auf den typischen Ekseption-Sound würden wir aber nie verzichten." Die neuen Arrangements beweisen es: Die Ekseption zollen der handwerklich-musikalischen Artikulation Tribut. Das Unisono, die Einsätze und Harmonien stimmen. Sie kennen jede Schwierigkeit
ihrer Stücke und wissen sie richtig auszu-führen.

Man hört es; was immerhin nicht alltäglich ist. Und es beweist, daß die Ekseption eine der homogensten Gruppen der Rock-Jazz-Szene sind.
