Pinetop Perkins: Live At Antone's Vol.1

(1995 'Antone's') (56:32/10) Bislang unveröffentlichte Aufnahmen, die im Rahmen der Festwoche 1990 aus Anlaß des 20-jährigen Bestehens des 'Antone's Nightclubs' in Austin entstanden. Vom Material her die übliche Chicagoblues-Routine; von der Qualität des Auftritts her allerdings 'erste Sahne'. Pinetop ist mit 82 Jahren in guter Verfassung, und die Namen der Kollegen sprechen für sich / previously unreleased live recordings from the 'Antone's Nightclub' in Austin, Texas. Pinetop's in good shape, and the back-up musicians are first class. But, please don't expect anything but well-known tunes. The performance is excellent, though. PINETOP PERKINS - pno/voc, KIM WILSON - hca, RUSTY ZINN - gtr, KAZ KAZANOFF - ten, CALVIN JONES - bass, WILLIE SMITH - drums.
