geb. 29. 4. 1925 in Dorchester - Massachusetts Record Labels: RCA Erster Hit: Wabash Cannonball (1970) George Nowlan, so heißt Danny Davis in Wirklichkeit, spielt Trompete und bekam als Assistent von Chet Atkins die Chance, in Nashville eine eigene Brass Band, The Nashville Brass, zu gründen, mit der er Country Instrumentals spielen sollte. Und Atkins hatte tatsächlich recht. Eine Marktlücke wurde geschlossen und Danny Davis And the Nashville Brass blieben für viele Jahre erfolgreich und kamen sogar in die Country Hit Parade. Inzwischen hat sich der Blech-Rummel längst wieder gelegt und der „Herb Alpert der Country Music“ sitzt sicherlich wieder irgendwo beim Arrangieren, so wie er es vor seiner großen Nashville Zeit getan hat.
