In keeping with his autobiography "Americana - The Kinks, the Riff, the Road: The Story", which was released a good three years ago, Ray Davies presents his new solo album in 2017.

"Americana" is the first record with new song material since "Working Man's Cafe" from 2008.

The former Kinks singer was supported by none other than The Jayhawks. Together with the US alternative country quartet, they went to their own Konk Studios in London last year. There, a total of 15 new tracks were created, including a soulful duet with Karen Grotberg. Guy Massey and John Jackson were responsible for the production alongside the musician himself.

Like the book, "Americana" is largely an autobiographical work. The songs reflect Davies' very personal view of the country. As if from individual puzzle pieces, a big American picture emerges.

The Briton already gave a first foretaste of the new album with the single "Poetry".

Ray Davies is still one of the greatest songwriters in the world. The proof is there in 2017 with his new album "Americana".
