John Cowan – The Massenburg Sessions is a 2010 studio album by American singer and musician John Cowan. The CD contains 13 tracks and combines country, bluegrass, Americana and other elements of American roots music. The tracklist includes My Time In The Desert / Maggie Little, Caldonia, King Of California, The Lakes Of Ponchartrain, Jesus Gave Me Water, Long Road Back To You, Safe Within Your Arms, Carry On, Heart Of The Country, Can't You Hear Me Callin', Black Blizzard, Soiled Dove and Soiled Dove (Reprise). The album was produced by George Massenburg, with the sessions shaped around a warm and intimate musical atmosphere. Guest appearances add further variety to the recording, including contributions from Maura O'Connell and Del McCoury.
