US-Amerikanische Country-Folk Sängerin und Songschreiberin. Geboren am 1. Mai 1939 in Seattle, Washington; bürgerlich Judith Marjorie Collins. Erster großer Erfolg: Das Album 'Wildflower' 1967 mit Grammy Auszeichnung. Ihre Kollaboration mit Graham Nash und Duette mit Joan Baez ließen sie weitere Erfolge feiern, zusätzlich mit eigenen Songs durch die 70er Jahre. 1979 war sie auf dem Albumcover zu 'Hard Times For Lovers' nackt zu sehen. 1987 veröffentlichte sie ihre Memoiren. 1993 sang sie für Bill Clinton. Judy Collins ist UNICEF-Botschafterin und kämpft gegen den Einsatz von Landminen. Zudem wurde sie 2015 in die American Academy Of Arts And Sciences gewählt.
