Guitar master Dennis Coffey's first LP for Westbound Records was released in 1975. It remains a tour de force of funky guitar artistry that is second to none. While Coffey's guitar fireworks continue to take center stage on “Finger Lickin' Good,” some of the more psychedelic elements of his earlier work fall away, replaced by a smoother, more polished sound. This new style clearly lays the groundwork for Coffey's transition to a more commercial, disco-oriented sound throughout the '70s, both in his own recordings and in his writing and production work for other artists such as CJ and Co.
