Chicken Shack is a British blues rock band formed in 1965 by Stan Webb, Andy Silvester and Alan Morley. They were later joined by Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac, who was still known as Christine Perfect at the time. She left the band sometime in 1969 to join Fleetwood Mac and was replaced by Paul Raymond of UFO and the Michael Schenker Group. In 1967, they signed to the legendary British blues label Blue Horizon.

‘100 Ton Chicken’ is the band’s third studio album, released in 1969, and offers a balanced mix of blues standards and original compositions penned by the band’s sole constant member, Stan Webb, who is still active today. It features the single “Tears In The Wind” and a cover version of the folk masterpiece “Anji” by Davey Graham.

“100 Ton Chicken” is available in a limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies on green vinyl.

"CHICKEN SHACK"

1967 in Birmingham gegründete englische Bluesgruppe, die im Laufe der Jahre [immer härter wurde und heute fast ausschließlich Rock spielt. Boss der Gruppe ist Gitarrist Stan Webb (geboren 3.2. 1946 in Betinal Green - London). Auf dem Höhepunkt der Karriere war die Gruppe um 1969 - 1970 mit Sängerin Christine Perfect (geboren 12. 7.1945 in Olverston). Ihr Nachfolger in der Gruppe wurde Paul Raymond (geboren 16.11.1945 in St.Albans). 1970 geriet die Gruppe in eine Krise und 1971 stellte Stan Webb eine neue Besetzung vor, die jedoch auch nicht lange zusammenblieb. Anfang 1974 trennte sich die Gruppe, kommt aber gelegentlich noch für Tourneen, vor allem in Deutschland, zusammen. Mitspieler sind Schlagzeuger Al Powell (geboren 19.8.1947 in Manchester), Pianist Dave Wilkey (geboren 28.7.1950 in Leyland) und Bassist Rob Hull (geboren 2. 3.1949 in Durham).
