An all-star cover album for her birthday

Exactly ten years ago, Brandi Carlile released her famous breakthrough album “The Story”. To mark this anniversary, the US singer-songwriter is presenting a very special remake of the longplayer in 2017 with “Cover Stories: Brandi Carlile Celebrates 10 Years Of The Story”.

It is actually a cover album. Carlile asked some famous colleagues to each reinterpret one of the 14 songs. The musicians include absolute stars and icons from country, rock and folk, including Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson, Old Crow Medicine Show, Jim James from My Morning Jacket, Pearl Jam, Adele and many more. All songs, with the exception of Adele's version of “Hiding My Heart” and Ruby Amanfu's “Shadow On The Wall”, were recorded in 2016.

The foreword to the LP “Cover Stories: Brandi Carlile Celebrates 10 Years Of The Story” was also written by none other than former US President Barack Obama.
