Singer / songwriter Kate Campbell looked to the “Man in Black” for inspiration for her new album Damn Sure Blue on Large River Music. Two of the songs on the album are by Johnny Cash: his version of the folk classic The Ballad of Ira Hayes and his own song Forty Shades of Green.

Produced by Will Kimbrough and Robert Lucas at Barefoot Jerry's Cinderella Sound Studio in Nashville, Damn Sure Blue breathes pure Americana and soul.

Outstanding musicians were involved in the recordings, including Will Kimbrough (guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, mandola, keyboards, vocals), Kevin Gordon (guitar, vocals), Dave Jacques (stand-up bass), Bryan Owings (drums, percussion), Phil Madeira (accordion), Chris Carmichael (violin, cello), Kate Campbell (piano, acoustic guitar).
