In the summer of 1996, Igor Bourco's Uralsky Jazzmen undertook their first tour of Great Britain. During a performance at the Isle of Man International Jazz Festival they met the legendary trumpeter and singer Nat Gonella, 88 years old. It was later agreed that Nat would do a short tour with the band in Holland, and so they met again in March 1997. During this time, Nat and the band also did a recording session. Eleven tracks were recorded with Nat Gonella. The history of Nat Gonella began in 1929 with the Billy Cotton Band - Roy Fox Band - Ray Noble and Lew Stone. On Rockin' Chair and Some Of These Days, Nat Gonella is backed by the British queen of the blues (and the washboard), singer Beryl Bryden. The albums "America Meets Russia" and "Russia Meets America" are also still available. Unique Dixieland albums of great quality, highly recommended!
