Blues Pills from Sweden were the somewhat different band of the big retro rock wave right from the start. Instead of concentrating on Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath influences like many of their colleagues, the quartet was more playful. They wanted to sound as lively and groovy as Frumpy, Jimi Hendrix and Big Brother & The Holding Company. Fortunately, with the exceptional voice of Elin Larsson, the perfect singer was on board for this project.

Worldwide success and three top 5 albums in Germany alone were the reward. “Lady In Gold” even made it to the top of our charts in 2016. Now Blues Pills are releasing their fourth album “Birthday” and reaching for the stars once again. The work is characterized by the pregnancy of singer Elin Larsson during the recording, which gives the songs a new emotional depth.

The songs were created in just a few weeks in the tranquillity of the Swedish countryside. Grammy-nominated producer Freddy Alexander is responsible for the powerful production. He perfectly staged high-energy rockers such as “Don't You Love It” or the title track as well as the soulful ballad “Top Of The Sky”.
