James Mangold, director of the Johnny Cash biopic 'Walk The Line' (starring Joaquin Phoenix), revealed in a Los Angeles interview, "I would not have made this movie if I had not come across the Johnny Cash CD box sets released by BEAR FAMILY RECORDS. I had been a fan since I had found 'At Folsom Prison' in my father’s record collection amongst a couple of odd John Denver records. It definitely was the pictures and the text in those BEAR FAMILY box sets that gave me the right feeling for the whole era. The box sets were also very helpful at the film set and for the costume designers.”
