"Net(t) zum O'hörn - Musi & Gsangl from Bavaria" (Program TFF.Rudolstadt 2001)

Biermösl Blosn, the name of the Bavarian trio around the brothers Hans, Michael and Christoph Well, goes back to 'Bürmoos', a wet and swampy area between Munich and Augsburg. "A marshalling yard was once planned there," Christoph Well explained in 1990 in an interview with FM folk-michel, "and when that didn't work out, they wanted to build a rubbish dump. That didn't work either, and so far it's still a moss. At that time we were looking for a name, and the Drexler-Toni from Hörbach ..., the initiator of the 'Hörbacher Montagsbrettl', the oldest still existing cabaret stage in Bavaria, meant 'Biermösl Blosn', that would be something for us."

The Biermösl Blosn have been the most traditional Bavarian singers since the end of the 70s. Grown up in a teacher family with eight brothers and seven sisters - three Well sisters are known under the name 'Wellküren' - the folk music care was already from early childhood on the plan. These include 'singing out' or 'derblecken' [in Bavarian, this refers to the harsh and critical reproach of people in public life; author's note]. in the song, and having fun too. "Intelligent biting, often simply funny are her songs, which sometimes arise out of a consternation. Whether they sing about prostitution in Bavarian culture in the stadiums of this and the bordering republic, whether they sing about their favourite politicians Edmund Stoiber or Angela Merkel, whether they think about the sense of Bundeswehr missions in Somalia or Kosovo or whether they deal with persecuted writers such as Lion Feuchtwanger and Oskar Maria Graf - the recipe remains the same. And this in turn is extremely pedagogical: "Even serious messages are better received in connection with positive feelings." (Programme TFF.Rudolstadt 2001)

Christoph Well described her relationship to folk music to the 'FM folk-michel' as follows: "For me, any folk music is good if it is authentic music and if it does not have this additional chord or that simple change for business reasons. Bavarian folk music is first and foremost our musical basis. But we also like to use parodistic and alienating stylistic devices. And if we like an Irish or Italian piece of music well and mia hams technically or musically in the cross, then spuin mas aa on stage. The main thing is, it's fun for us and mia san is convinced of it." Biermösl Blosn have no problems identifying with Bavarian folk music. "Bavarian folk music is not the problem for me. I find the excesses of folk music much worse, it has a completely different political effect, like a Naabtal duo or a Maria Hellwig or a Karl Moik. It's a yodel horror monster show."

Gott mit Dir, Du Land der BayWa, the Biermösl Blosn themselves describe their first really good text as follows: "... a parody text on the Bavarian national anthem, 'Gott mit Dir, du Land der Bayern'. From this we have made 'Gott mit Dir, Du Land der BayWa' [BayWa = Bayerische Warenvermittlung; supplies farmers with fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides etc.; author's note]. We have often played with the family at events organised by the Farmers' Union, at courses for prospective farmers, etc. They always first thanked BayWa, and we learned that all this was financed by BayWa. That's why we put this other text on the national anthem."
