With this album of adult southern rock, which uses the usual influences of the genre - blues, country, gospel - Michael Allman has nevertheless managed to create a varied and autonomous work. Rich guitar work that backs the song, a solid bass drum foundation, a Hammond B3 for the classic flavor and jet black female gospel singers provide the backdrop for the Southern gospel. Crunchy rock tracks like the title track or Goin' Back To Daytona alternate with ballads like Rosehill. The latter is a tribute to the Allman Brothers Band, which was photographed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, Georgia, and it is precisely there that Dickey Betts found inspiration for In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed.

The Midnight Blues is bluesy, the Brown Liquor Blues surprises with a honky tonk piano and with Black Cat Moan, from the pen of Don Nix, they skillfully take up a forgotten gem.

Feeling So Bad as a duet with Schascle Yochim is classic Southern Soul that could have been released on Stax in the 70s. Additionally, A Mule Named Whiskey is a bonus track for the European JukeJoint500 release.
