The history of pop music is littered with albums whose provocative covers promised something steamy and sensual, but instead delivered a musical cold shower. This album is not one of those albums. Composer and keyboardist Wheeler, who had previously arranged and conducted Broadway shows like The Wiz and also had a successful career writing commercials for clients like McDonald's, Pan Am Airlines, Boone's Farm Wines, Kool Aid and Coca Cola, released this cult classic in 1975, a soulful, glittering masterpiece of bedroom jazz-funk. It's Wheeler's only album, but it could be solely responsible for the mid-'70s birthrate surge... light some candles and get out the lotion.
