In 1978, towards the end of his career, Muddy Waters released one of his most important works. The album, entitled “I'm Ready,” was produced by Johnny Winter and followed “Hard Again,” their first collaboration. It was immediately hailed as a blues classic. The collaboration between Winters and Waters resulted in three albums that blues fans describe as a unique combination that perfectly showcased Muddy Waters' rawness and years of experience.

The impressive list of contributing artists included “Pine Top” Perkins on piano and Walter Horton on harmonica, making it a dream collaboration at the end of their careers. “I'm Ready” won the Grammy Award for Best Ethnic or Traditional Folk Recording.
