Scott Engel (* 9. Januar 1944), John Maus (* 12. November 1943) und Gary Leeds (* 3. September 1944): Drei amerikanische Sanges-'Brüder', die keine waren, mischten in den Swingin' Sixties England auf. Ihre melancholischen Balladen, aber auch temporeiche Soulnummern machten sie zum dreifachen Mädchenschwarm.
Love Minus Zero – No Limit war nie ein Hit, unterstreicht aber besonders gut ihre Fähigkeit, Liebesliedern einen ganz originären, schmalzfreien Schmelz zu verleihen. Scott Engel avancierte mit seinen Soloplatten zum geheimnisumwitterten Kultstar.
