Geboren am 16. 4. 1935 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Bobby Vinton formierte während der Schulzeit seine erste eigene Band, die in der populären Dick-Clark-Show “Caravan Of Stars". 1960 das Backing für auftretende Top-Stars besorgte. Im selben Jahr erhielt Bobby Vinton einen Plattenvertrag bei Epic. Nach seiner Zeit in der US Army wurde er Solo-Sänger, kam zwischen 1962 und 1974 mit seinen Singles 4Omal in die US-Charts.

Fünfmal belegte er Position 1: 'Roses Are Red' (1962), 'Blue Velvet' (1963), ' - There! I've Said It Again' (1963), 'Mr. Lonely' (1964) und “My Melody Of Love' (1974). Von 1975 bis 1978 hatte Bobby Vinton eine eigene Show im US-Fernsehen. “Blue Velvet' wurde 1990 von Regisseur David Lynch für seinen gleichnamigen Kult-Film verwendet, was Vinton noch einmal auf Platz 2 der englischen Hitlisten hievte. US-Spielfilmauswahl: “Big Jake' (dto., 1971), “The Train Robbers' ( - 'Dreckiges Gold', 1972, beide mit John Wayne), 'The Gossip Columnist' ('Die Skandalreporterin', 1979, mit Kim Cattrall).
